← Back to Dashboard1. Overview
The Crash Gauge Dashboard ("the Service") is a public, read-only dashboard that displays economic and financial indicator data. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information is (and is not) collected when you use the Service.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
The Service does not:
- Require user accounts, registration, or login.
- Collect personal information such as names, email addresses, or payment details.
- Use first-party cookies for tracking or analytics.
- Use third-party analytics services (e.g. Google Analytics).
- Track your browsing activity across websites (beyond what our advertising partner may do (see section 3).
3. Advertising
The Service displays advertisements provided by Google AdSense, a third-party advertising service operated by Google LLC. Google AdSense may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your browsing history. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- For more information on how Google uses data from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
- You can also opt out of third-party vendor cookies by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.
We do not control the cookies or tracking technologies used by Google AdSense. Apart from ad-related cookies set by Google, the Service itself does not set any tracking cookies.
3. Local Storage
The Service uses your browser's IndexedDB to cache economic data locally on your device. This improves performance by reducing repeated requests to our data proxy.
- Cached data consists solely of publicly available economic indicator values (e.g. unemployment rates, yield curves).
- No personal or identifying information is stored.
- Cached data expires automatically based on a time-to-live policy (typically one hour).
- You can clear this data at any time through your browser's settings (Clear Site Data).
The Service may also use localStorage to remember your display preferences (such as dark mode). This data never leaves your device.
5. Third-Party API Requests
When loading indicator data, the Service makes requests to a Cloudflare Worker proxy, which in turn fetches data from the following public sources:
- Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED): fred.stlouisfed.org
- OECD: data.oecd.org
- Robert Shiller (Yale University): econ.yale.edu/~shiller/data.htm
Your browser connects only to our Cloudflare Worker proxy; it does not contact these data sources directly. Cloudflare may process standard connection metadata (IP address, request headers) in accordance with Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. We do not log or store this metadata ourselves.
6. Hosting & Infrastructure
The Service is hosted as a static website. The hosting provider may collect standard server logs (IP addresses, request timestamps, user agent strings) as part of normal operations. We do not access or analyse these logs for tracking purposes. Please refer to our hosting provider's privacy policy for details.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since the Service collects no personal data from any user, there is no age-specific data to address.
8. Your Rights
Because the Service does not collect or store personal data, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete. If you have questions about this policy, please refer to the contact information below.
If you reside in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you retain all rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be indicated by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
10. Contact
